Hľadá sa Michaela, 2021

Projekt Hľadá sa Michaela čerpá z autorkinej rodinnej histórie. Prablesková v ňom pomocou Photoshopu – manipuláciou vlastných rodinných fotografií – vytvára možnú podobu svojej staršej sestry, ktorá sa následkom spontánneho potratu nikdy nenarodila. Autorka sa v tejto práci zamýšľa nad alternatívnou verziou reality – ak by sa sestra narodila, zrejme by niesla rovnaké meno, aké neskôr dostala ona. Rovnako vychádza z predpokladu, že ak by sa táto Michaela narodila, jej rodičia by už pravdepodobne nemali ďalšie dieťa, takže ona sama by neexistovala. Prítomnosť jednej Michaely je podmienená neprítomnosťou tej druhej. Prablesková tak spochybňuje jedinečnosť svojej vlastnej identity a prostredníctvom stratenej/hľadanej Michaely si vytvára akési alterego.

Looking for Michaela, 2021

The project Looking for Michaela draws from author's personal experience and her family history. Prablesková uses Photoshop to manipulate photos of her relatives and by combining them she creates a possible look of her old-
er sister, who was never born as a result of a miscarriage. In this work, the author considers an alternative version of reality - if this sister had been born, she would be probably given the same name as she (author) was later given by her parents. She is also assuming (based on the conversations with her parents) that if this sister had been born, her parents probably wouldn’t have another child, so she would not exist. Presence of one Michaela means ab- sence of the other one. Prablesková thus questions the uniqueness of her own identity and, through the lost Michaela, creates some kind of alterego.
